Treatments:

Treatment for children and adults are different. For Adults doctors recommend routine check ups and some medicines if the pain gets worse. Some medicines are hydroxyurea, ibuprofen, prescription opioids and other pain medicines. Side effects of these medications include trouble breathing swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat fever, chills, coughing and lower back or side pain. Other side affects are difficulty when you urinate, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting or drowsiness. For childern doctors recommend not getting over heated and not too cold. The most common side affect of Sickle cell for kids are pain episodes which are hard to control and to see coming. However thier are many ways to help prevent the pain. Some examples are stress, drugs and not enough sleep. Thier are no effect cures for Sickle Cell yet.
