Genes and Chromosomes:

You can either have the Sickle Cell trait which is inherited from one parent, or the disease if both parents carry the trait. This means both parents could have the ressesive trait which could lead to thier offspring having Sickle Cell. This results in the disease, Sickle Cell Anemia. Anemia means a condition marked by a deficiency of red blood cells or of hemoglobin in the blood, resulting in pallor and weariness.
